how well can you predict election outcomes?

Dave Leip keeps a website called Atlas of U.S. Presidential Elections.

He has sections where users can predict the outcome of elections. It's not a betting website, so being right will just give you bragger's rights. There are separate sections for U.S. Senate races and governor races.

Among the interesting features of the website is that he pools the collective wisdom of the participants. And he keeps the sections on polling (U.S. Senate and governors) up to date.

governorships (none / 0)

The collective wisdom is that the Dems are going to flip Colorado, Arkansas, Ohio, New York, Maryland and Massachusetts.

U.S. Senate races (none / 0)

The collective wisdom is that Dems will flip Montana, Missouri, Ohio, PA and RI, but Lieberman will win in Connecticut.

This sets up the dreaded situation where the Dems need Lieberman to form a majority.
